Recognising the fact that the development of the food industry has been dominated by non-Muslims, how can halal food-quality management be implemented in keeping with the true Islamic essence? This work is a small contribution, derived from findings of a theoretical-based research, to the implementation of Halal Standard Management of Hala Food OualityY MS1500:2009. To meet the needs of the food quality system and the requirements of Muslims, a new approach is introduced in this book through the Islamic tasawur as the mould of Islamic-based development management which presents a more holistic and comprehensive solution.
The author was born in Pendang, Kedah. She received elementary education from SK Kampung Chegar, and secondary education from SMK Syed Ibrahim and SMK Pendang. She later pursued her studies in Matriculation College, Pulau Pinang prior to her bachelor’s degree in Universiti Sains Malaysia. She graduated with Bachelor of Technology (Food) and later pursued with Master of Social Science (Islamic Development Management). She then continued with her PhD in the field of Management of Islamic Development Institution at the Centre for Islamic Development Management Studies (ISDEV), USM.
